the guy at checker told me double platinum will work well (even asked me if i had a supercharger) and to not get bosch. so i fugured he knew what he was talkign about..
what are the main DIFFS between platinuma nd copper then?
and goign from 8 mm to 8.5, what will i notice?

your stock plugs were platinum so these will probably be ok. The Bosch platinums have hiccups in some of our cars so thats why they are not recommended. Copper is best for power but if your not into that or dont want to change your plugs every 6 months you did fine.
