Default Vin #'*

Ive heard of people saying that there are vin number all over the car but when i seen one on the engine i was amazed. Other than the ones one the door where are the rest of them on a 2000?

Should be engine, doors, dash, and I think maybe on the RPO sticker on the spare tire cover of the trunk?

The sequence number (the last 6 or 7 characters of your VIN) will also appear on the transmission case and underneath the plastic top radiator support. I'm sure there are other (supposedly secret) places as well, to help cops find stolen and altered vehicles. These also let you know whether your car has the original trans and engine - you've heard the term "numbers match?" [edit: seems I've also seen stickers with bar codes on body parts that may also carry VIN information]

ive seen the vin on my front fenders of my 90. badged and stickered. what happens when you order a replacement engine from the dealer? is it blank or do they put your vin on it too?
