General GM Chat When starting new posts, please specify YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE type, and whatever modifications you have made. Chat about all things GM (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the Lounge, and all Model specific mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

Is this unusual?

I know I've seen those headlamps before, in person. as I said above, I didn't say all 87'* had those headlamps, I said I thought it were a possibility that very early 87'* may of had them. I know I"ve seen them in one of my repair books at one time too, just can't remember where.

Considering where that car is in that photo, I'd bet you saw one just LIKE it. That car is not in the US.

These are the headlights you will see when a Bonneville is exported to Europe. We've seen it before on this Forum. That'* really all there is to it. Particularly when the car pictured is in Europe, and licensed as such.

This is one of those Uber-frustrating topics because not everyone is aware that this is NOT the first European 87-91 we've seen like this. Nor is this our first European member by any stretch.

I wonder how much it'd be to get a hold of a set of those and have them come to the US and if they'd fit in the same mounting positions.. those look badass!

You would need alot more than the lights. The brackets for the lights are all different, and they're welded in.

There was no SSE in 87. The SSE came out in 88.

Those are European Export light configurations, and not the first we've seen of them.
yep!

Lighting regulations were different in the US which entitled US cars to have different headlights, not the standard "square" or "round" sealed beam. European countires followed suit shortly after.
