Default Is this unusual?

I was going through some old car show photos and found this one of a Bonneville SSE:

I notice it has quad headlamps that look like sealed beam units- all the others I've seen have had flush-fitting composite headlamps. Is this unusual? Was it done at the factory or is it aftermarket - and if so, why?

That has to be aftermarket or a custom setup. Cool none the less.

That is the European standard. Cars built for Europe export had seperate sealed beams.

no, the very early 87 Bonnevilles had the quad headlamps, just as the 86 LeSabres, and Park Avenues had them. The full headlmap was on the Lesabre/Park Avenue come 87, but the Bonneville got them mid-year AFAIK.

I like those better than the full lights. I've seen cars around here with those lights.

There was no SSE in 87. The SSE came out in 88.

Those are European Export light configurations, and not the first we've seen of them.
