I am pretty sure he would like the 00+'* much better after he took yours for a ride.

Oh, I'm pretty sure I would as well. And in all fairness I was comparing a modded '93 to a stock '01. I'm more that certain that a modded '01 woulda left my jaw dropped.

My best friend'* '00 GTP gets my jaw a-droppin' a tad. :P

EDIT: Which, btw, seemed to be much faster than the '01 SSEi. I know they're lighter, but still.

Of course the 00'* feel slower, they're a much stiffer body, higher quality, etc. If your car flexes alot on take off, is louder, and has more vibration of course it'* going to feel like it'* faster. It'* like those people who think their stereo'* are louder just because they have so many panels rattling, it'* not actually louder, it just sounds like it because of all the extra noise. The 00'* are quick cars, but I agree their performance is somewhat dissapointing at times.
I've driven a 92, 93 bonneville SE, 95 SSE, 1996 SSEi, and the 2000 SSEi and the 2000 is by far the smoothest of them all. I liked the 95 SSE the most though. that black was gorgeous as was the rest of that car.

I can only agree. But my modded '93 will just about keep up with the stock GTP. If I had the money, I'd get the '01 SSEi, which was black btw, and mod it out. Then I'll feel what I'm looking for :P

After putting the aftermarket pulley and K&N filter, I really felt a difference in mine. My friend has a VW GTI (manuel transmission)with all the bells and whistles and modded pretty good. I tore off and he said he tried to catch me. He said I was pulling away from him. Thats not bad considering it'* a light car with around 180HP modded. So the 00+'* aren't wimps, and with a bit of modding, they will fly. Scott, my friend, has been to the track a bunch of times so I know it wasn't inexperience. 15.2@ 92mph is his best time, (not adjusted for not being at sea level) which he claims would be 15.0@93.

BTW, my car is only slightly modded, if silverbullet, pontiacdad or one of the other heavier modded folks had been in my place they would've dusted the GTI, not just pulled away from it.
