Ok, Now I'm curious.

I believe its rather important to replace your struts and or shocks every 50k or when you're able to freely bounce your car, whichever comes first. Simply because old shocks diminish handling because they decrease stiffness in corners, can sometimes cause abnormal tire wear, can increase emergency braking distance AND heavily decrease your vehicle'* load capabilities.

I can do hydraulics in my 98 if I hit the gas, brake, gas, brake ect. But they are probably originals and should get replaced soon since I bet they have 101k on them.

Most of the time they are replaced when they feel "old"

at 185k my struts in the 98 were fine, one bounce etc.

at 120k my struts in my 01 are fine as well.

if i feel something is off i change it. goes with anything with the car

I still have original struts on the 93 and ive never changed them. Car feels fine. I dont have any bounce effect.

And I never heard before that you had to change them every 50k. I dont think we ever changed them in any of our cars.

I chose when the handling is diminished because that was the case for my 95. My father in law tried to do the bounce method on it, he even said they were still good I never had a problem with tire wear or any real crazy bouncing but after they came off the car they wouldn't extend unless I pulled them out, and even that was hard to do. I guess my spring were acting like my struts Replaced mine recently with over 200K miles and 12yrs old. Now it is defiantly is a lot stiffer in turns
