Default APN UIM. It'* a Graywerks

I just got a new UIM I ordered via APN. Price was good and I wanted to have one on hand. My car had it'* UIM replaced under warranty at about 30,000 miles and is the OEM. Anyway, I sorta expected the UIM to be manufactured by APN. When I opened the package, there was an instruction sheet inclosed that this was a "Graywerks" UIM and the box also indicated that fact. The UIM looks great, has the metal sleeve in the EGR port, and has the additional parts accompanying it, including the EGR tube in two sizes. There are no stampings on the UIM to indicate where is was manufactured. The question for others that have bought an UIM from APN in the past, was theirs manufactured by Graywerks also? I searched this forum for "Graywerks" and got no hits. Here'* some pics.

You know, this could clear up a mystery. Some have said the UIM intake runners on a Delphi intake and their APN intake were interchangeable, while others have said they are not...if some APN intakes were manufactured by Dorman, and some by this ATP company, perhaps they were both right

Do me a favor...snap a photo of the UIM runner in this new ATP / Graywerks UIM and post it up; I want to see if it looks like either of the runners pictured in this thread:

When you say "runners", are you talking about what he calls the "inserts" in that thread?

Ok. I'll do it when I get home from work at about 4:30, and post the pics then.

Don,

My point is that this is not a Dorman UIM...it is a ATP UIM...and, if I've got it right, both were sold as part of the famous APN kit.

It is hard to imagine there is a third party manufacturer out there that supplies just APN. When you read the instruction sheet, it does not read like a product to be sold by another name. For example, note "the Graywerks unique EGR tube" and "Graywerks sleeve" and "Graywerks plenum" language

Nice pics...you got a photo studio at home? :o

Well, that looks like the Delphi (OEM) intake runner, and not like the Dorman brand intake runner.

Actually, I just bought a "light tent" on Ebay and used that. Search with light tent and you'll find lots of them, cheap. What are you looking at for comparison on the insert? What I noticed different on the pics in that thread you posted was that front part of each of those six "tubes" went up higher on one than on the other, and mine are high, just like picture in that thread that had the date on it which was of a Dorman. :?
