I've never ONCE regretted buying my SLE over the nearly identically equipped SSEi'* I looked at in my price range. I wanted a sunroof, leather and steering wheel controls. Not to mention I love the DIC. I'd like a HUD, but honestly, I've made it to this point in my life without it and I dont find myself wishing I had it.

I love my car more and more every day. I loved my 96 SE as well, but the creature comforts and styling of my 00 just really float my boat.

Dont rule out the SLE'*!

Owning both an SLE and an SSEi, I can tell you that the supercharger, FE2 suspension, and HUD are the 3 big reasons people either like their car or envy someone else'*.

I honestly wouldn't have purchased my 95 SLE without the SC or FE2, yet it still lacks the HUD.

It'* all on what you want really. To me, it'* a FWD v6, it'* my daily driver, and i'm in college, i needed reliability, and what not before "sportiness". It'* not the manual tranny, Rwd fun car I'd rather have, but it'* been fun to modify it for street driving.

For example, the HUD? kinda neat, but not a selling point to me, the SC is nice and i'll put an L67 in my car if the engine or tranny ever lets go, but for now it still makes a good noise when I hit the loud pedal.

Some people overlook the importance of how cars have been treated, and focus on options more. Getting an SSEi that'* been to the gates of hell and back isn't IMO a better car then say a comprable SLE that'* in showroom condition. Some can be brought to good condition, others are money pits.

That'* not to say the SSEi isn't worth it, or anything, but wait out for a good example if you have the time.
