To Sell or Sink lots of money into it, that is the question.

Default To Sell or Sink lots of money into it, that is the question.

I'd like your opinion.
I've got a 96 Olds LSS with 160,000 miles on it. It'* been a great car, gets 30 on hwy trips and 22 or so in town. Plenty of power with it'* N/A Series II 3800...

Here'* the deal: It'* got 160,000 and needs all 4 struts replaced. The paint is starting to flake off on the hood and fenders and roof, big time on the roof, by next spring it will have lost half it'* paint (Thank you GM for another crappy paint job.) The tranny and engine are original and leak a little oils. It'* got the black mouse hair interior and the seats aren't that comfortable...

Should I sell it or put a bunch of money into it for struts, paint, etc?
Also, if the tranny goes out, (It'* not the HD one,) can I upgrade it to the heavier duty one?

Thanks.

How attached are you to the car I think thats the million dollar question, or few thousand dollar question.

You got to weigh it out, what will you get if you sell it? Are you financially ready to do something like that, either way you go? Paint is no big of a deal, and the struts can be overcome.

Sounds like things could get expensive real quickly. Sounds like you'd have to put a year or so worth of "car payments" into it to get it where you'd like it to be.

But always remember - if you do decide to sell, put it in the for sale forums here . I've got a brother in law looking for a nice 88...

personally, I'd stick with it, but most people wouldn't. there'll be a lot of time/money to get it in tip top shape again.
