Well Im glad to hear that your factory alarmon your 97 is working fine because mine isnt! When I leave the window down and arm the car then unlock the door and open it it doesnt honk beepor anything. Only thing itdoes is makes the honking sound when i arm it , yea and also the PANIC button of course
