I just finished using Seafoam in my car. I measured out exactly 1/3 of the can into a pyrex measuring cup and then sucked it up through the booster vac. line after warming the car up. I shut it off and waited about 10 mins. before starting it back up. It started a little rough but still started on the first try. I took it out to run it and no smoke, nothing. It idles nicely but it never idled poorly. Why would I get NO smoke after doing this? I listened for a miss which would indicate a fouled plug and didn't hear anything. It all went well, just no smoke show. Any ideas?

did you floor it? its supposed to help release the carbon iirc

Yessir. 0-60 pegged a few times, nothing. Doesn't run any better than it used to at WOT but the idle may have improved.

I did mine about two weeks ago and the same thing. Very little smoke, cel actually came on for a while, but went off after three or four starts. It does idle a lot smoother though

No, my can didn't look like that since I poured it into a Pyrex measuring cup. That sure is a powerful vacuum though!
So I don't see any reason to change my plugs since I don't see/hear/feel a miss that would indicate a fouled plug.

I pulled and inspected mine after I was done. They were not fouled but they were a little black. Not from the Sea Foam, that'* from another problem I'm trying to figure out. Car has been running rich I just don't know why.

Did you kill the engine as it was still sucking up seafoam? You're supposed to leave some in the cylinders to heat up and steam the junk out of the combustion chamber.

It had already sucked up the whole 1/3 can. Once it sucked it up I quickly ran back and turned it off. I shut it down just before it killed itself from the vacuum leak. Was this too fast? It was a difficult start so I figured that was due to the solvent in the cylinders...

well it doesn't have to be exactly 1/3.... i ran about 3/4 can into mine and then let off throttle and let it choke. let it sit for about 15-25 mins, then start it, and GET OUT on the road. (do it quickly, because smoke builds fast

My car ran much better after THAT, along with 1 full can on just over a half tank of gas. Idle improved, mileage improved, etc etc.

if you do that all just like that, and STILL see no smoke..then hey, maybe you're running only shell v-power
