Default SeaFoam - Smoke from front of Engine!

I finally got around to SeaFoamiing my 95' SSEi. It did help. She puffed some smoke when I soaked the engine and she continued to smoke for about 5 minutes afterwards.

However, this is the weird part, when I stuck the tube downinto the bottle of SeaFoam and let the engine choke on it, and she did choke and rattle, smoke came out from under the front of the engine! Scared the **** out of me. I thought I had cracked something.

Now I do have a pretty good oil leak comming from the front left side of the engines under the pulleys. My oil pan and especially around the oil filter it is covered with oill. I haven't been able to locate this leak.

Now I am wondering how the SeaFoam smoke got out of the front of the engine. I checked for an exhaust leak and there is none. The only other thing I can think of is a crack in the intake manifold or a bad intake manifiold gasket.

Can anyone confirm this? Any insite would be helpful before removing the intake.

Thanks.

P.*. I have already replaced the Valve cover gaskets.

I've used both it and the GM top engine cleaner. They both work about the same as far as i can tell when passed into intake (do a search for SeaFoam i posted a few times on my experiences with it). I fed it through the pcv hose and it worked nice. Lots of smoke out the back just like the GM top engine cleaner.

Seafoam is about 5 bucks here in these USA. not bad at all works fine in supercharge and na engines.

Try cleanin your engine ( gunk citrus engine cleaner or the likes ), run the car to do your errands ( short one if possible around 30 mins of driving ). Now pop the hood and do you see where the oil is coming out from? The engine being all gunked up already with oil makes it hard to find out where it'* coming from.. so I advise to clean it first and go from there.

Will give it a try.

It is kinda hard to get to/see the areas behind the pulleys.

I may have to do a good cleaning then remove some stuff to see down in there.

I am still concerned about the smoke from the SeaFoam.

My guess is that the intake may have a crack and that is where the smoke came from.

Just not sure of the inake design.

Thanks.
