Default Scan Tool

I have a friend whos father apparently has either Tech II scan software (or something that functions like it, I didnt ask much detail) designed for a laptop that you apparently plug in via a cable of some sort from the laptop to the vehicle.

I was wondering if anyone either HAS one of these cables (to sell, give, barter, lol) or knows where I can obtain one. I have a laptop and if its possible to do this, I'd LOVE to.

If it is like most, the software is basically free. It'* the cable that contains the interface that costs the big bucks. Here'* one example. http://www.autoenginuity.com/
