Just bought myself a parts cleaner for some future projects and was wondering what types of cleaners you would reccomend? I have used mineral spirits before in a class shop but don't know if thats real safe as far as flamability issues so I am leaning away from that but it'* not out of the question. My local places have some simple green stuff and some other citriousy stuff I am currently looking at. It'* only a 20 gallon parts washer so no large quantities and I would like to keep it as inexpensive as possible without majorly sacrificing performance. Thanks for the advice in advance.

I would just use mineral spirits like you have been. I don't think it'* that flammable either; not like lacquer thinner would be. Of course it would be great to have lacquer thinner in a parts tank, but I think it would evaporate out too easily.

I use a bonefide cleaning solvent in mine. Got several gallons of it years ago...don't remember what it cost, but it works.
