Default Parts cars comin out my arse...

In the last 14 hours, I've been notified of two additional "parts" cars. The most recent one is another 93 SE described as having "phat" rims and in good shape. This is a state police impound with no keys or title but should run. The other is a 94 SSEi gold/tan combo. This one has engine trouble and was towed by a buddy last night. The owner seems to be at the end of his rope with this car but is going to have a mechanic take a look at it before deciding to sell.

I would like to take both but I have two problems: storage space and DIVORCE!. Mrs randman1 would have a heart attack and i'd be looking for a place to live (she'* really not that bad but you get the point). It'* almost definate that I'll buy the SE cause it'* a deal I just can't let pass. I still need some trim level specific parts for my SSEi but will not be able to buy the other one unless it is another killer deal.

I'll update if/when things change with the SSEi. Maybe going into a parts partnership with someone relatively local would be possible.

Man, oh man. You really have been bitten by the resto bug, haven't you? Just a little suggestion. This isn't the best solution money wise, but it is a good solution storage wise. You could take all the usuable parts off the car, or anything someone would want. Then, sell the car to the local wrecker for $50 or something. That way you have the parts you need, without the extra car.

I know if I were to buy a parts car [probably never going to happen], I wouldn't even bother looking at anything other than a White SSE. I don't know about the parts compatabilty between later years, but if its anything like the 87-91'*, the car would almost be worthless in terms of parts. Especially interior parts. I wouldn't grab the SE, but that SSEi sounds like it would be of more use if you asked me.

The guy wants $200 for the SE. The rims alone can be sold for more than that and the rest can either be used or sold on Ebay. That one is a no-brainer.

I thought of the garage idea and it still might be an option. It'* going take some time to strip all of the parts off though. I'd need to take a couple of vacation days and do it all at once. Hafta do something soon... the weather and daylight is going downhill fast.

If that SE is a runner $200 is a no-brainer, especially for those "phat" rims . Just get rid of the rims before you do anything to the car . I guess the only thing is don't pass up an offer you will end out regretting. Just go for the SE.. chop 'n sell, and move onto working on your car. Hopefully the money earned from that, will help fund your project.

I'm kinda in the similar situation where I have found a 92 SSE and a 92 SSEi for decent... the only issue is getting them (4+ hrs away, but have a car trailer) and the cash since I am in college. Still running through the logistics too.

Change of plans on the SE. It is actually a 92 and pretty busted up. Didn't like the rims either. But, the drivers headlight is looking good (for 94bonnyV) and it has the woodgrain dash that someone was looking for recently so I left a voice mail saying that I'm not interested but can help parting it out.

JF, We need to talk about a joint venture. The only problem is that we both need the rear bumper cover. If we split the cost in half and the travel expenses, that would benifit each of us. I'll send you my phone number via PM later so we can discuss.
