I'll just wait until I get a CAI in 5 years.
Those bubbles, or tumors, would be resonators. There'* a total of 5 on this airbox. I can't wait until I can justify buying the filter for my CAI so my engine can breath better, and sound better.
Could I remove any of them and fiberglass/epoxy over the holes? Would it harm it?

You'll love the sound when you get the CAI.

if you get an airbox from a earlier year NA (that are the exact same as the SC minus the Resonators) ......you wont have the Resonators

What is your intent? What are you looking to accomplish/attain with that?

Not so much whine, but I want to open up the air intake as much as I can without going CAI because im quite not there yet in buying/making one.

I was thinking that if the S2 can be gutted, then there MUST be somehting I can do with a S1 airbox without fudging anything up.

Lol. I think I'll take your earlier suggestion and get an older N/A one and see how it fits. The smaller washer fluid bottle wasnt an exact fit, but I made it work

I'll have to take a look and see what I can do.

I switched to the smaller washer fluid bottle in my last Bonne, and had an intake...opened up the corner very well.

If you want to do something with your stock intake, get the L27 intake and cut holes in it an run tubing into it. Willwren did that to Greenzilla and I believe his 95 now has it on. He said it helped.
