firestone fr380's are good, cheap tires, we sell alot of them where i work and never have any complaints
i would personally go with goodyear assurance comfort treads, but they are around 130-140 each but are well worth it and are the smoothest and best driving tire i've owned. (they are also a 80K mile tire, but by the sounds of it, they would be junk before you would wear the tread down) |
I think that replaced the 451. I've been checking on tires also, and people really have high praise for the Falken.

I think I have narrowed it down then...
Falken ZE-512 or Bridgestone Potenza G 009 If I find a deal locally I'm going with Bridgestone G 009, otherwise I'm continuing with Merchants Tire and getting the Falken and on that note, thanks for the input guys! off to bed for me, 'night |
Well im not going to deal with wal mart so im not even looking there...
Tread Quarters If I order the Bridgestone Potenza G009 they are $132 each, which includes Free Mounting, Free Tire disposal, free valve stems, Free alignment check, Free Balancing and Free TMPS Service (TMPS?)... or I could purchase online (for 84.00) and have them installed for 28 per tire, which would be slightly cheaper but i dont get the free rotation/alignment check ect... Merchants Tire doesn't carry Bridgestone, but would install them if i bring them in(which i thought they wouldn't), i believe its 11 per tire, a good bit cheaper but again no free rotation ect... Merchants Tire if i oder from them, I can get the Falken ZE-512 for 96.00 each and will include Free Mounting, Free Rotation, Alignment check and 30 Ride Guarantee Which would you go for? Tread Quarters (Bridgestone Potenza G009) or Merchants Tire (Falken ZE 512) or Buy online, have installed (Bridgestone Potenza G009) |
Its actually TPMS, Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
And I suggest the Bridgestones at tire rack and then have them mounted. Although that deal for the bridgestones with all those free services really seems like a damn good deal. |
I really like the G009's. Handle decent in snow, good in rain, even seem to have pretty good wear life. I haven't run them at the strip (might on the 13th) but I think they would be alright. Bob (Dillcc) likes his also.

I'd prefer the Bridgestone Potenza G009 but right now with money being tight is what im deciding on.

I ended up with the Falken ZE-329
I Had decided to go with the Falken ZE-512 @ Merchants Tire but apparently they don't keep the 512s in stock, and the company warehouses only had 1 tire. He then told me they had the 329 in stock and it was buy 3 get 1 free. I persisted with the 512 so he called two outside sources and they didn't have it either. He asked if I had another tire in mind, I told him the Bridgestone G009, though you guys don't carry Bridgestone. And then he was like well let me see what we can find. He only found a Tourenza and again only 1 in stock... So I decided to go with the Falken ZE-329, the buy 3 get 1 free deal was pretty good. I had looked at the 329 vs 512 Hopefully these aren't too bad, we'll see tomorrow at 12:00 when they're installed! |
