My mom got her 05 GXP 2 weeks ago and loves it. The sticker was 38,030 and with tax and tags she got it for just under 28k. My only compaints so far are how quickly the front rims get dirty (she only put 170 miles on the car and they are black!) and the inside is rather small for such a large car (but the seats are sure comfy) her 95 Bonnie feels much bigger inside. Overall, she is happy with it and i say you should go for it, dealers are giving pretty good discounts these days.

GO FOR IT! There a great car I haven't driven a GXP but driven a Northstar powered Seville SLS *in 2004* and was impressed with the Northstar its sure a great motor! Sure pulls like hell after 4500rpm tho, the sales man raised his eye brows... But uhhh I drove an SSEi in 2001 when I was shopping for my Impala and I can say this a Northstar in a Bonneville and with the new styling it is the best of both worlds... If only the interior was a tad more refined and had another 2 inches of rear leg room! Oh well it is what it is!

The GXP is just such a great car on so many levels. It turns heads due to it'* clean lines, smoked headlights and flashy 18" flangeless rims. People love how this car looks. I always get guys pulling up to me at lights revvin trying to get me going. I have wasted quite a few ricers but usually I just drop it in neutral and rev it back! This then result in them commenting on how sweet the exhaust note is. I drove relatively hard against a BMW 530i last summer and can say that this car is just glued to dry tarmack. It'* very impressive for a car of it'* size. It out-handled the 530i as well as out-muscled it. The brakes in stock form are solid. They hook up nicely on those big rotors and really slow you down quickly. If you're doing some serious driving, I'd recommend you put on some aftermarket brakes to eliminate fade, but other than that, the odd stomping on the pedal will sure tighten up your seatbelt. Also, the HUD (heads up display) is one of my favourite features. Never look at your speedometer again. Just watch the projected digital readout reflecting off of your windshield. Another surprising aspect of this car is how well mannered it is for FWD. You can start from a corner and mash the pedal while turning and torque steer is basically non-existant. Pontiac did a great job of also making the car ride so well for wearing 18" Goodyears with the tautly tuned suspension. This car really is a great compromise for all of the things that you want vs. all of the things that you need. Massive trunk, great sound system, seating for 5, 4-door, FWD for the winter, comfortable ride, great handling, flashy wheels, and kick *** sounding exhaust. The family has never traveled in so much style before for this price.

Not to hi-jack this thred, but how hard is it to install a GM 12Disc in the trunk? Are all the wires there, or do u need to run the wires. I saw some on ebay, but they say they work with the 2003 and older radios, i am not sure what all i need. will do a search in the audio section in a minute.

ok, not to start an argument but the SSEi is not faster all the way up to 80 MPH. I have video proof that even with my V6 shortstar (smaller northstar engine for those of you who don't know.) I was able to pull slightly slower 0-60 times, and the SAME times from 0-95. What does that tell you? Even with my 220 horsepower V6, it out accelerates the SSEi over 55 MPH.

Also, give that northstar engine atleast 30,000 miles to properly break in, and it'll drive like an entirely different car. The N* engines take some time to break in.

Your car is lighter and your gearing is different.
