Only gaskets..unless some one in a million thing makes your lower intake bad.

my mechanic said you're not supposed to.. along with the lower pcv o-ring isn't supposed to be there, but yet without the o-ring, it made a horrible hissing, willwren gave me pics of his WITH an o ring, my brothers 3800 MCSS has one on it, and to top it off, it'* still losing fluids

is it supposed to be changed and how much is the part
Have you read ANYthing about the UIM failures on the VinK motors? Not changing that UIM could eventually cost you the entire motor. It has for a dozen or so members here in 3 years.

And what pic did I send you? I don't recall that.

Your mechanic isn't very 3800 savvy apparently, and your friend with the MCSS....is he supercharged or not? If not, he'* got serious issues that are going to cost him his motor. I suggest he join our Forum ASAP.
nevermind will

i confused you with jrs3800

http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...&highlight=pcv

that'* who i was thinking of and those are the pics i'm talking about

they sent me pics for step by step pcv install (i'd never done one in a 3. and i did that, and i found i had a missing lower PCV o-ring.. that'* the ring i was talking about.

My brother had a 2001 Monte SS (non supercharged) up until a few weeks ago, and he traded that in about a week or two weeks ago.. on a 2004 Monte SS (Supercharged L67) ..but back to it, his girlfriends dad has the same year car, ss also,(2001) but it'* blue, but anyways, so i checked on his motor, and the o rings were there..

My mechanic said they're not *'posed to be there.. yet on everyone elses 3800s, the o ring is there.

now onto the fluids part; his never were losing any, neither of his montes..

my car is losing fluids

haha

i am sorry, i kinda rushed through that and didn't type it correctly (the thing about me and my brothers car and my bonne)

the mechanic is taking a look at it right now so hopefully it'll be okay

i would show him this thread, but he'* also a family friend (lives 2 houses down) and he'* done all our car work for the past few years.. but he hired some guys, so i'm guessing they're the ones who are doing the faulty work. .

i should still show him this thread, and all the pics, and even the o rings, but i don't want him pissed off.. he gives me a damn good discount on this stuff.
