Default Longest current US Production car

Somebody at another site I fequent asked this:

After seeing the latest ad for the "new" Ford Mustang I began to wonder.
What is the longest surviving model out of the big 3?
Criteria~GM, Ford, Chrysler, car not pickup, 4 or 2 door, continuous
production, made in USA, HT or Convertible.

I wondered if anybody here knows? So far the best thing we have found was the Cadillac DeVille made 1949-present. Anybody care to challenge?

Corvette actually missed 1983. There were something like 49 test cars built, but they didn't pass GM'* tests, so they held off on it for a year. There is currently only one 1983 car left and it is at the Museam in Bowling Green. I have a picture of the plaque somewhere, I'll look for it.

Chevrolet Suburban, since 1935. It is the longest continuing nameplate for GM, even though it is a truck and not a "car". Otherwise I'd concur with the DeVille, 1949 to 2005.
In 2006 it will be referred to as the DTS.

Whoever said the Buick Roadmaster, I think 1958 it ended, then again reintroduced for 1991, too many years in between of no nameplate.

The 1983 Chevrolet brochures had the Corvette in there. It was worded like:

" a returning classic, the 1982 Chevrolet Corvette"

I don't think there was an '83 model year, but keep with sales demand they sold the '2 during the '83 model yera until '84 when the 'vette was redesigned.

there was NO 83 Vette, 84 was the new body with the Cross Fire Injection, in 85 it changed again to the Tuned port injection
