If you got the leather wrapped steeringwheel you should have the leather wrapped shifter.... If you don't have the leather wrapped steering wheel you should have the rubberized shifter....

But who knows what GM did...lol

Rare? What year group are we talking about? I have an 98 SE with the floor shifter, and the other member I work with has a 96 SE the same(he just never posts).

It'* actually not all that rare. Look at mine, for example, on the first page of this thread.

It'* typically fleet cars that have the console shifter.

will, i can explain perfectly. that new t-handle you just got came out of my cloth SE, which was replaced with the leather wrapped handle that i got with the center console/shifter (from an SSEi)
