Default Question about shifter handles

How does the 00+ shift **** come off? Is it similar to the 92-99? Does anyone know if these are interchangeable?

Is it possible for someone to shoot a pic of the front/underside of one?

I assume you want the center console type shifter and not the column shifter...

Correct. Sorry

I'm interested in using an 00+ on my car. I like my T handle, but the newer ones have a more natural angle to them.

Same setup as mine. Dad, can you measure the diameter of the shaft, and how far up from the bottom edge the clip is? I think they may cross over. Might have to go back to the wrecker tomorrow.

I felt for the clip while I was in that wrecked SSEi, but didn't feel it.

1/2" diameter and 1" up from bottom edge.
Good luck with the swap, I like the feel of mine, nice and wide.

My dad has a silver 02 SE with the bench seat and column shifter. He had a hard time finding one equiped that way.

I like my T handle, and most 92-99'* don't have it (I think only the 92/93 got it), but I think I like the angle of the 00+ T handle better. It looks a little more natural than mine. I definitely don't like the Cobra shifter I picked up today. I think I'm off to the wrecker again tomorrow to grab another shifter......

Got the shifter from the 2000 SSEi. It fits, and works, but the I had to get the vinyl boot, too. The boot on my shifter only comes up to the bottom of the handle, and the 2000+ T handle boot comes up around the base of the shifter handle.

A short history/comparison of console shift handles is in the works.......
