It has been very interesting reading though this thread. I have seen some varied responses to what bmsgaffer86 did. Normally I could see the validity in both opinions voiced here, however, I want to tell you a little story that happened to me:
March 2, 2003, after an unsuccessful trip to the hospital that morning, and a subsequent discharge and trip back home, I found myself a bit preoccupied and a bit in a hurry to get my wife to the delivery room some 45 minutes away (at 55 mph and stopping for all stop signs/traffic lights). After loading my wife in the car, I proceeded to use my supercharger post haste. I made the trip (on semi icy roads, in the dark, in deer country, and on two lane roads) in 20 minutes--not because I was patient--but because I was flashing my lights at every car I came up behind. At 95 mph, I did not want to have to slow down much. I am sure that there were many whom I passed that thought that I was a
, but my main concern was that my wife was in active labor and kept telling me (between 2 1/2 minute apart contractions) that we weren't going to make it. Well I did....with only five minutes to spare. I even left the car running at the ER enterance.
So before we all go passing judgement on the "other guy", understand that regardless of whether you like his car or not, he may have a legitamate reason for flashing and trying to pass.
As for the guy above, he may not have had such a reason, but who are we to judge. Let him pass.
