basically the 96-03 3800 L67'* have a factroy rating of 240 HP
the 04-07 3800 L32'* have a factory rating of 260 hp

going to a s2 from the s1, the torque curve will move up the powerband, making it likely hook up better but then have more nuts once its going
oh, and if they are all supercharged, then the 2004 is the best way to go it think
