If given the same choice, I'd buy an SSEi and sell the SE. Unless you just love the punishment of doing an engine swap and want to have it as a learning experience.
That said, I'm perfectly happy with my SE and just don't find myself ever going "Dang, if only I had more power!"
But if I did, I'd just go buy an SSEi. Less trouble.

Brady..here is my take Bro....your SLE only has what 70K some on the car....Hardly any miles....Here is what i would do......
drive the SLE.....while your driving your car, you can get all the parts in order (L67, trans and all the good stuff)...so when you have EVERYTHING ready you can swap....if your uncle has a hookup it should take maybe a weekend or 2..
your car is in good shape, and the fact is that you not gonna get anything for the trade and then you still have to buy an SSEi....
swap in the L67 (IMO)

Since waiting is currently on the agenda...how about this..
Wait a little longer until you are out of school. Get an SSEi then.
As many have said..there'* other features you get used to quickly... ok..like Chase said..under a day and he was addicted to AL7'*.
Drive your car..enjoy it and cherish it... it'* not the average car already. Hold out for what you want..
The swap...isn't happening in a single weekend. Things will go faster than when we swapped Frank over to an L67...but there'* plenty of things to take into account..like the fuel pump module, fuel pump and any things that need to be done to the motor before it goes in.

Whatever you decide to do, you should wait until you are out of school and financially stable. You already know you have a good car now, if you get another car or another motor now, you could uncover hidden problems *always possible* and if all of your money went to a swap or another car, you're just SOL.

BTW...unless someone is a bonneville fan or gets a good look at the badge and sees the small "supercharged" they have no clue what motors we are running.
So the whole sleeper effect doesn't apply in my eyes. I'll know what you are when you show up for NEBF'*
