I had a chance to get a 40th anniversary SSEi in black once. Had 202,000 kms on it, Had to pass as finacially at the time, I could not do it, to bad, it was a nice car. When one passes sometimes a better one comes by.

I had a line on a Champagne colored 40th SSEi a while back. One of my neighbors owned it. I talked to him one day to let him know about the club, and he said he was thinking of selling for $2500, and I told him if he decided to sell it, I would meet that price NQA. A couple weeks later he sold it without even asking me.
I have a feeling my reaction to the price convinced him he wasn't asking enough, and he didn't want to come to me with a higher price. It really pissed me off, though. It was during my first go-round with my trans on the Buick, and I was very serious about buying it from him. If he'd come with a higher price, I would have gone to $4,000 without any qualms. The thing was absolutely mint, except that some jacka$$ had smacked the right mirror off. (Had the ugly wheels, though...)
He moved like a month later. I saw him once before that, and called to him as I was stopping the car, and he just about bolted for his door.

Ah, no updates to report as of late.
Maybe I'm not stalking hard enough?

Too bad to hear about those 40th'* that got away. I'm not sure how I would afford it if she decided to call anyway, but I would find a way somehow.
Maybe she discovered The Club and now knows what she has. Oh NO!
