Aside from a little crown carbon, they weren't bad at all. I cleaned them up on the bank the head is off of. BTW...no lip at all in the chambers, aside from the carbon. That came right off

Lifters looked real good too. So good that they *probably* didn't warrant replacement. But I got a hold of some Federal Mogul lifters, brand new, for a song.

Timing cover will have to come off eventually. Too much corrosion on it for my liking. I will have to see if Don still has the one that came off of the original L67 that was in my car. And while it is out, if I can find a kit locally, I *might* degree the stock cam. The oil filter adapter will also have to be swapped. As well a certain LIM that a certain somebody has been working on...if he can finish it.

I've got good vibes on this motor. This one, once refreshened and installed, should outlast the car.

It seems to me like you're going to end up with a far better engine than what you had in Guinevere. Are we to expect some Florida drag racing videos with 93-SSE when you're finished with this?

This is a logical answer. Good of you to repair this car. Well, can it at least go to WCBF?

We *might* rebuild Gwens old motor, depending on how damaged it is. At the very least it will need a crank job and a new(ish) rod. The block will most definately need to be hot tanked, as well as the heads.

But that will come later. MUCH later.

Ah...Red Oktober finally surfaced!!

Yes, this motor is looking better and better after each night I work on it. Don came over to lend a hand and to see for himself how this motor looked. We popped off the other head, cleaned up all the piston crowns, and checked a few things out. The block cleaned up nicely, and after another bath in cleaner, will receive several coats of high-temp, low-gloss black.

The timing chain is a bit stretched, not bad, but enough to possibly throw the idle slightly off-kilter. it'* gonna get a new set of timing gears and chain in addition to what has already been listed.
