Traded my bonne in today. Had to buy a pickup. I have been looking for a beater pickup but none made me happy. I basically got 5000 for it. I got a 95 xtened cab chevy with 5.7 plus dealer gave me $500. I couldnt pass up the deal Truck needs a little work basically a bedside because of rust but it will do good and be fun to build up.
I will say that after this, even though I used to work at a dealership selling cars, I will never go back to a large dealership. The local chevy dealer would only give me $2000 trade in and the local smaller guys would give me between 4500 and 5500 depending on what I was trading for (no truck was more than 7500). I WILL NEVER GO TO LARGE DEALER AGAIN

I think $5k for a 7yr old trade-in sounds fair to me.

Wish I had known... I've got a 94 F150 Ext Cab 4x4 97k miles sitting in my driveway I hardly ever use anymore. I would have given you way more than $500 bucks too.

Just the way things go. I have been shakin the bushes hard. Everything on Ebay goes to high an dnothing good on craigslist in my relative area. Same with traders guides and the like.
To me the deal was right. Actuallly truck is having some tranny trouble even after i did flush and filter today but the guy told me he would get it rebuilt so I cant complain. When I worked at the dealership we always said its not how good the deal is its how good the customer percieves the deal. As long as he gets the tranny repaired My perseption is a good deal. PLus on the side I had to basically get out of the line of work I was in because of health reasons and I have been talking to this guy and he is going to expand his little lot and i might go to work for him. It would be a great change of pace. Talk with some customers, wrench on some cars. Snag a few good ones for myself. What more could a car nut want.Pay wont be too great unless I buy and sell some for myself but I have another business so what the hell.Sorry so much off topic but in the mood to talk or type.
