Going to test drive an '03 SSEi...
Which, if the price is right, I might be buying....

That'* the link to the car, and as you can see, the price is WAY too high. So, what should I talk him down to? Oh, and any thoughts on the car?
I'd kinda consider it my reward for going full time

12k financed would be reasonable...or 11k cash.
the 92 is more fun if your pullied I'll tell you that right now.
2003 is all around a better car with the exception of the lack of whine and the crappy seats (no side bolsters) however I believe the 03 seats are better than the 00-02s.

You'll love the 03. its so much quieter and handles nicer.
Even the little things like the bigger steering wheel, radio station on the hud, memory seats and stuff make it cooler.
Lets keep in mind the dealer paid at most 12k for it on trade..likely more around 11 or if he got it from an auction it could have been even less.
13k might be a good price...if everything works perfectly and its in good shape and there is a warranty on it
You are throwing away $5000+ as when it gets to 100,000 miles it will be worth around $7000 in 2 years from now. at least thats what the 01s are going for with 100k on them.
I have a friend that works for a GM dealer and another for the ford/mazda dealer...yes they often pay MUCH LESS than what kbb has down for the average tradein. they often pick up cars for $5000 at auction and sell them for $10,000.

For an 02 it'* on the mid to high side on the price but here they all seem to be priced that way. I'm happy I found it, it'* like a brand new car.
