Default Gear ratios

What are gear ratios, what do they do, and how can I tell what gear ratio my car has?

find your rpo label on the spare tire cover, look in here

your final drive ratio is engine revolutions to wheel revolutions. The lower the number, the slower the engine runs (better fuel economy). Higher ratios , the engine spins more.(snappier performance)

Your car will either be 2.86 or 3.05...

Look on the Spare tire cover for the F-- Codes

Just 2 numbers after the F is better.

Thanks guys. But how does my gear ratio affect my car? Why are the 3-number gear ratios bad?

The lower the gear ratio the better Gas Mileage you will get but worse in performance (racing)
The higher the gear ratio the better performance but the worse the the gas mileage.
