I know the LS engines are SBC, but weren't there a few years where the SBC was discontinued? My point is that it didn't die, even though it may have been out of production (or at least really unpopular).

The way I read the article, the name would continue, but the fwd w-body is out the door. This is because (at least according to Motor Trend) Pontiac is going all RWD. Which means no more G6 or G5 (thank god). If they dropped those cars, and added the new Holden SS-V to the lineup, Pontiac will be much better off and much more appealing.

If Bobby Lutz gives it the go ahead, then, yeah looks like it.
It'* already been engineered for left and right hand drive, which makes things a whole lot easier

While I like the looks of the 2008 grand prix I prefer fwd vehicles. I'd rather be pulled than pushed especially in inclement weather.

Heck, we're just scratching the surface of their power potential, as evidenced by the new 1/4 records set recently.
i'd like to see the 3.8 in the soltice
The problem with the 3800 in any aftermarket is it'* not in any "performance oriented" cars. the sportiest car you can get it in, is a GTP.

And a 3800 in a Solstice? The 2.0 SIDI motor in the GXP is worlds ahead of the L67, while being MAJORLY capped. An LS2 would be lighter then an L67 anyways, and those fit just fine...

One thing to clear up guys, the Grand Prix name plate is going away in 08, but this new G8 is coming to replace it and the Bonne then. SO the GP is going away, but there'* still a midsize poncho that'll be around..
