Many suggest drilling a small hole in the thermostat (or use a predrilled unit) to aide in the purging of air from the system. Also, if your coolant is in poor condition, replace it with fresh coolant of the appropriate type.

Hmm, I never heard that before, its not necessary right? I thought to purge air, u can just use the bleeder valve on top of the thermostat housing
