There is one wire coming from each of the front door handles. In my 93 diagram, it'* gray. This wire in the input to the Remote Accessory Control module. It appears that the wire that comes from the passenger'* door enters the driver'* door and is spliced in there (S501). From there, it goes to the RAC module. You can disconnect the wire anywhere after the splice and before the RAC module to dissable.

We need to double check with a manual closer to your year before you go cuttin wires.

there should only be two wires going to the door locks on that year though I think. One for the alarm disarm (gooing to the door lock itself) and then one to the handle for the illuminated entry.

is cutting that wire also gonna cut my green light up ring around the key hole?

Those illuminated lock rings are a part of the rest of the dome light circuit. The light will still work but only when the other lights are on.

If you're referring to the lights coming on when pulling the door handle, it did not change in 96+. My 97 does it, and I, too, think it'* an invitation to steal valuables that may be in the vehicle. The only way around it would seem to be changing the wiring. You already seem to be working on that, though, so keep it up!

thanks for the info. The 96-99 generation was one my family never had so I wasn't sure if they had that option or not. I know that the 2000+ models no longer have the lights light up when the handle is pulled up. My 97 Riv also doesn't do this.
