Does anyone turn rotors anymore?

The mechanic I use still turns them. He'* very old school about most things--including standing behind his work--and that'* what I like about him.

I was talking about, OEM rotors, and their first brake job....if above specs and no evidence of major rusting, or grooving, and there was no pulsation, why not turn them?
