I'm positive the old GA and my Somerset have the same headlight assemblies. There is no strip hiding under the hood. It is very close, just a little different.

im talking more about the bracket that mounts the sealed beam. i know several people have wanted to do it, but just havent figured out where the brackets came from. while yes, the buick somerset does offer something of the sort, it just seems like <to me anyway> the angle of the bracket doesnt match up with the angle on the grill of the bonneville. same as the century. i first though they came from a century <86-87 or so> until i noticed the same thing, the angle of the grill mating surface. when i noticed that the GA has a very similiar if not exact grill angle <1986, the first year they made them.> as the 87-91 bonnevilles, thats where i get the idea of those lights coming from a GA.

The chrome strip does in fact run all the way around, and the they do not meet the grill.

first off, just to be sure this is the somerset:

correct?

IMO, the headlights on these two beautys look exactly, save for the bonneville maybe being a little more rounded on the top, but anybody with a modding bug can fix that. the grand am front end stayed exactly the same from sealed beams to changeable lightbulb types, which simply involves just tweaking the mounting hardware a little bit.
