Default Climate control question

Do you need to get a 94 ECC specifically to do the 92-93 Radio to 94+ radio, or can it be a 94+ ECC?

I may have this wrong, but I don't think the 94 ECC will solve the dimming problem for you in a 92/93 with an upgraded stereo. I haven't read that Techinfo in awhile.....but I think the answer is there. And someone just posted something in the last day or two that I saw too.

It states in the Tech Info that you need a 94 ECC, but I am having an issue finding one, but have founf a couple 95-99. So I am wondering if these might work as well.

Feeling daring? I have the original 93 ECC head from my car. I replaced it because a couple buttons were broken but it was fully functional. You might be able to take it apart and just use the dimming part of it. I haven't even taken it apart so I don't know if this is feasible.
