Question Climate Control Illumination question

I have an 02 I just bought for my wife and I see that the climate control buttons, the 4 on the right side do not light up at night. The control seems to work just fine but it would be nice be able to see these choices at night. Hopefully change out bulb or LED? I see shifter light needs attention too. I did see that post. I did search site under illumination and had 10 items come up with none so far on this question.

I dont know about the climate control, but my shifter light was out too, if you open up the cup holder you can pry up the part around the shift boot, you might also need to pull the trim around the radio and climate control off to pop out the cigarette lighter and cubby so you can get into where the bulb is, once you get that opened up pop off the PRND321 cover off, a few tabs i think then inside is a 194 bulb, then just reverse the process

its a little work, but i really liked seeing it at night

The only way to get the climate control to light is to buy a new head unit. They are all led bulbs that can not be replaced. You will have to pay a lot of money. I just know where mine are now and live with it.

Mine works fine and yes we will just remember the controls and live with it. I had a bad feeling that was the answer. Thanks much for the update.

My first place to look if I didn't want to take it out and take it apart and solder in little bulbs and leds like some folks have done, would be to look on Ebay. There are people who have a business repairing these kinds of things. You take it out, send it to them, or you buy a replacement and send back yours as a core to be repaired for someone else.
