Default axle noise

i have a 2000 ssei. i just put new cv shafts in it. it now has excessive play where it goes in to the tranny and also has a clunk when put in reverse and accelerated. it does this in drive also. it didn't do this with the old shaft. could it be an issue with how the new one was machined?

play how in and out or radially. meaning the hole in the trans is too big for the shaft. I would sujest not driving it till it'* fixed. Did you make sure it was set fully and clipped in.

it feels like the new shaft isn't as big as the old one.
