LOL, you dare question my opinion?!?!?! Ha, no you are probably right-therefore a second opinion from Matt may very well be in order. My deal is, that first, they are across the drive and up some stairs, so I haven't seen them for a good long while...but as I remember them, they looked "dipped" and matched too well to be painted...but hey, I've been known to be wrong (but only on matters of cars ).

It'* definitely not painted, unless GM has a decent chrome paint that they don't sell elsewhere, which wouldn't surprise me

True, either GM chrome caps or aftermarket, they look too good to be painted.

So after talking with Jeanie and Ryan (Alien). They informed me that their rims have painted plastic centre caps. Will a rim manufacturer have chrome painted centre caps for sale? I plan on matchin the diameter (obviously). I need some direction as to where to start looking.

Paulnold: You are located in Ottawa, thats a good CDN start for me. Do you think the manufacturer that made you rims offers caps for sale?

Painted plastic is what I want to do. Going with no caps and chrome lugs is not really an option that I want to explore.

Any idea?
I think, after reading this, that you are happy with the look of the center cap itself, but are looking for a different emblem. Is this correct Jim?

You can buy aftermarket emblems that are self-adhesive. You can choose from just about any make or get generic designs instead. They are typically from 1.5-2" in diameter.

I am thinking of this, from back ehwn I had my Monte SS. I bought custom rims that had knock-offs on them. The center of the knock-off was blank. I bought a set of "bow-tie" emblems to put on the knock-offs. I found these at a tire dealer that also sold alot of custom rims. I think they were less than $20 for a set of four.

Let me know if I am out in the weeds, or if this is what you want.

Jay

You are correct, I want the Pontiac Dart removed from the rim completely and I am willing to replace the centre cap completely if I have to. Are you saying that the dart is simply an adhesive on the plastic cap?

If so then thats perfect, I can keep the centre cap and not have the dart there. Or go to a custom rim shop and get just regular chrome plated plastic caps OR buy OEM Aurora caps from the 2000+ 17" rim. As long as the Aurora cap is the same diameter as the Bonneville rim cap

Whatever works best I assume is what I will do
