Well, I decided to call ATP and find out who else they provided intakes for, and how long they have been supplying APN. They have been supplying APN for several years, and Rock Auto also sells their product. They do not supply Dorman. Below is a page from the ATP supplemental catalog. If you were to buy from Rock Auto, you would pay 134.89, but you would get that fancy case also. I paid 94.00 from APN and it came without the case. I don't know why anyone would need/want the case.

Barry

Thanks for posting this information and pictures.

Please let us know if you find out where the manifold was made.

Well, I decided to email tech at ATC. Here is the question I asked:

I am a member of the Bonneville Club of America, and replacement intake manifolds for the 3800 engine is a main topic of discussion in our forums due to failure of the OEM manifold. APN sells your manifold and it is considered to be the best replacement out there. I am trying to find out as much about this manifold as possible, besides the fact that it is a Graywerks manifold. The item is part # 106001 and is an intake manifold for 92-05 3.8 liter GM engines. Can you tell me where it is made, and what other retailers carry it besides APN? Thanks in advance

The response I got was as follows:

Our 106001 manifold is a premium replacement from the OE and other aftermarket styles. We include all parts necessary for the installation. EGR tubes to accommodate both sizes for the GM lower intake manifold, gaskets, pcv housings o'rings for the fuel injectors and the unique egr sleeve that prevents the egr tube from getting in direct contact with the upper plenum. The common cause for failure.

Our manifold is manufactured overseas, but to our specifications. The 106001 manifold exceeds OEM specifications. I believe rock auto also carries our 106001. If you should have any further questions, feel free to contact me

Not much help, I'm afraid.
