Thanks for the info. I might try the Walker system out. No need for the Borla - just trying to stay inexpensive as possible. I'm taking the car soon to a Mufflerman and we will see if the resonator and pipes really need to be replaced. BTW Mufflerman quoted me $460 for the complete job. I think Monro is just too big of a company to care! They actually told me they didn't want to see my Pontiac Aztek in the shop anymore! They couldn't find the electrical problem with a window switch and they had a tough time dealing with the extended warranty company.

FYI, I just had a custom exhaust put in my car, catalytic converter, muffler, and exhaust tip for ~$380, so that $460 quote is actually a good deal.

Just curious, does that include the price of the parts and any piping?

Universal Catalytic or direct replacement? I think I paid full price for my magnaflow 3" cat and it was only 70$. The direct replacement stuff is always more expensive though.

What muffler did you have put on?

Saturday I had a friend bring in a new HD silverado that he had someone put a Flowmaster on but they wanted 80-100$ just to reconnect the factory piping and tailpipe back on. It only needed a 9 inch section of pipe welded on. Flowmaster was 3" exit and the tailpiping was 3.5". I think we charged him 30$ and he gave us a 10$ tip. Didn't take more than 20 minutes, couldn't charge him much...

I think we may need to charge more, lol. But then again, we get more work this way...

No problem, just figured I'd bring it up, solve alot of your rusting problems. That and it would bolt right on with factory hangers. DIY.
