I was at the yard a couple weeks ago and found a 99 SSEi that had a serious engine compartment fire. The rest of the car was intact. I asked the counterman what happened and he had NFC.

there'* a black GTP around that year at my junkyard that wasnt wrecked but the front end was burnt to a crisp! They chopped tha back half off of the car to i guess use on another one, but the interior was soooo imaculate that was sad to see

That sucks. Thats a very clean looking '00 there that just burnt up. Looks identical to my moms car...

Any idea on the cause of it? Need to make sure my moms car doesn't do that...

I've seen quite a few GP'* in the yard burnt to death. Mike- that sucks, you're was beautiful. What was the cause?
Two summers ago I saw a 95 SSE as well as a 93 SLE both with melted engine compartments. I should have taken pics

The cause is still unknow, the insurance is waiting the result of the inspection, should have news soon. Seem to begun at passenger side of the engine bay.
