All personal preference i spose... whenever we get a customer in the shop that specifically asks for synthetic oil (believe it or not SOME people know the difference to ask lol) we always order a 6 case of Mobil 1. I spose that'* just because it'* what our supplier carries but it seems like good fluid. I know this wasn't in the original discussion, but what about Royal Purple? Isn't that stuff supposed to be great? Personally on high mileage motors, i run 4 quarts of 10W30/40 depending on season and a quart of Lucas oil treatment.

lucas in oil can cause more harm than good, crap in my opinion, i would never run lucas in my oil.
(before anyone says anything, lucas trans additive is different and dosent cause this)

take a look at this:

Yes, but in that article he uses what like a half a quart of oil to god knows how much lucas? I dilute the lucas 4:1 with straight oil, and i've never seen any foaming. I've tried it, adding it and then draining it after running. I've also seen oil pressure rise and motors quiet down with it. So i know it'* a good product. Good info none-the-less.
