Default Amazon and core charges?

Hi all, has anyone purchased parts that would normally carry a core charge from Amazon? I am trying to revise my Rock order since they are going to hit me with outrageous shipping. I have a reman rack and pinion in my Amazon cart by ARC and sold by Auto Parts Way. I have never heard of ARC and there is no core charge listed on this transaction and shipping is $12.00, yet if you go to APW'* site there is a $100.00 core. Does Amazon not charge the core fee? Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks, Eric

maybe they dont want deal with it. the only problem ive had with amazon is if you buy something that isnt from amazon it self you are at the mercy of the other seller, i bought a bunch of stuff from amazon they are quick, but i bought shocks one time it was from just suspension it took over 3 weeks with nothing updated on the status pages

no i wasnt in a super hurry i checked the status a couple times but figured it wouldnt work if it wasnt actually amazon. one day it just showed up. amazon is good though one time i ordered a cheap phone charger, same deal it by someone else probably in hong kong but that time i called and they sent me a different one in a couple days and a couple days after that i got the first one. hard to tell if its usps that sucks or who ever was sending it
