hey whats the difference between cold air intake and jus like an air intake?
A cold air intake or CAI has some kind of heat shield or box around the intake in order to duct in air from outside, or non heated air like in the engine bay. Some newer engines are so tight, that in order to be effective a CAI must reach down to gather air from underneath or near the cars' extremities.

I'm lucky because there is so much bloody room that the air swirling thru my bay never gets super hot...you can almost live in the space between my air box and the engine.

not sure what the name is of the box but it sits right on the drivers fender. it'* rubbed off some of the carbot fiber material off the cone. yeah the clamp that holds the bigger side of the reducer just fits snug i folowed your advice and put the clamp from the stock intake on. i'm a litte scetchy about cutting the reducer because with my **** luck i've had with this intake i'd probably screw it up and aint goona bother so i'm just gonna grind down the plastic housind for i think is the PCM box.
