That is not exactly true. The 3800 Series III has electronic throttle control, no more cable linkage.
Hmmm...
The computer controls what your right foot should??!!

Just another sensor and electronic actuator.

Like the Corvette. I guess it works better for traction control and interfacing with the computer.

I notice on the Series II engines, that there are two throttle cables and the linkage is quite complicated.
Does anyone know why there are two separate cables?

If I remember right the one of the cables go to the foot petal and the other goes to the cruise control.
