RWD oversteers, and FWD understeers. With RWD you can give it a stab of the throttle, and swing it some, or just stay out of it, FWD, you can only turn as sharp as you get grip for.

With RWD your not using the same grip for turning and acceleration, FWD, you have to split the available front wheel grip between acceleration or breaking, and turning.

A lot of people consider RWD a death trap, frankly I don't buy it. People drove for a lot time without FWD.

Yep, and I was one of them.....why I won't go back. The rest of your statements are accurate, also....as far as they go. Lots of "buts" that go with it.

Interesting on how this has changed to debating FWD vs RWD. It'll come down to personal preference, and likely divided along age lines. Those who have a lot of time behind the wheel of a RWD car in snow and ice will likely opt for the FWD. Those who have limited or no experience, or live in areas where it doesn't much matter will likely go RWD.

Actually I thought that too but then I disproved it to myself. As i'm sure with real FWD drifting, NOT stabbing the e-brake they do the same thing. If a FWD car has a good amount of power it is possible to recovor from a fishtail. I took a 90* turn at around 32mph and lost my back end so I guned it and hitting first it pulled hard enough to actually pull the car strait. I don't think that would have happend though if I didn't get the downshift.
