Default 2000+ Intermediate shaft interestment

I didn't want to hijack the thread on intermediate steering shaft problems in the mechanical forum, so I thought I'd post this interestment here. I gotta wonder if the same engineer designed ALL the GM intermediate shafts of that era. I’m pondering this because the intermediate steering shaft on my 2003 Silverado 1500HD flew the coop at around 24k miles. This was so prevalent on these trucks that the dealer had to install the grease fix while I waited 3 months for a backordered shaft. Point is, it’* not a Bonneville-only problem! I wonder what other GM models enjoy this feature?

There may be an engineer out there somewhere that'* in need of a good b****-slap.

Yeah, I've got a buddy that owns an 03 Silverado. he just had his intermediate shaft replaced a while back. It'* probably the same exact part as the Bonnevilles. There are a lot of shared parts between GM vehicles.
