So, I goofed up and wasn't paying attention, I ran into something that damaged my passenger side mirror assembly and knocked out the glass. Fortunately, didn't damage anything else.

So I have a few options, I guess.

Replace whole assemply or just the glass. On a bit of a budget so trying to find a good place to buy either.

Found a guy on ebay: choicebumper, seems to have good rating and he has the entire assembly for a great price.

I found this site that has the assembly and glass for decent price too.

So my question to you fine folks, anybody shopped from either of these? Is replacement process easy? I am not mechanically inclined so, just concerned about that. If I do take this on, is there a place that can give me instructions on how to do this online?

I am open to other suggestions or places to purchase the mirror too, if better than what I have found.

Replacing the glass alone is by far easier, IF DONE CORRECTLY. It is very easy to break the mirror during re-installation.

Either way it will work, but in order to replace the whole mirror you need to remove the upper speaker. I you don't replace the retainer you'll end up with a rattle. These are about $5.00 each. You need to remove the door panel and then you can swap mirrors.

If you decide to replace only the glass, you'll need something like a sanding block. If you try and snap the new mirror back in place with your hand, you'll likely break it. There are a few other issues, but if you decide to go this route I can post more detailed instructions. There are a few steps that make it "finicky" compared with replacing the entire mirror.

Further to my last post, the entire mirror assembly that you posted will be a paint to match item. You'll want to consider that in your estimate of cost.

Also, and I'm sure this is dependant on the glass company, I found (during my experimentation of signal mirrors) that not all aftermarket glass is cut to just the right shape and size.

You may want to consider purchasing an entire used OEM mirror from a wrecker and swapping the glass (mount included). Doing this means you won't have to worry about paint, nor will you have to worry about whether the glass will be a proper fit. These aftermarket glass replacements DON'T come with the mount.
