boost question

Of course he is referring to the boost gage ... how else do you read boost? I have never heard of one of our members corrected low boost by fixing a bad gage. It seems to always be BCS, BCA or vacuum leak. That'* why I pointed him in that direction.

Rule out the obvious first.

It sounds like, at idle, he believes the boost gauge should be all the way to the minimum (his exact words were 'lay flat'), which it usually doesn't. He is trying to get more vacuum out of an engine that probably isn't going to make anymore.

Unless I am wrong...

He is not talking about idle.

Ok i replaced all the bad t'* and lines i could find and checked the Boost bypass value and it seems to be functioning properly. I am getting a pound or 2 more boost but still not like it was

Have you checked back pressure in the exhaust? I have seen the brick come loose inside the cat and block exhaust flow. The OP did say the brick rattled. If the exhaust can't get out the new mixture can't get in simply. Make sure all known problems (ses light with cat code) are fixed before going to repair a perceived problem as they may be related.
